Let’s face it; our society is at the point where sitting for long periods of time is the norm. It’s acceptable, and in most cases, necessary to be seated for 8+ hours a day. Working, traveling, eating, and relaxing on the couch watching TV; movement is no longer a primary function, but secondary to the function of our brain/minds and technology. All that time seated adds up. And it’s causing havoc on your body.
MOVE BETTER’s focus is in breaking the bad habits of our daily sedentary lifestyle and reintroducing basic human movement. As humans, we inherently have great movement patterns, but lose them as we age due to reduced physical activity. By increasing the quality of our movement, we are able to continue to engage in the activities we love to do over a longer period of life, all while reducing the risk of injury. But before we are able do that, we need to regain some of the lost flexibility and mobility; and relearn some basic human movement patterns, increase the efficiency of those movements to make activity more enjoyable while decreasing the risk of injury.
